The Italian Vittorio Monti scored the most important success of his professional life with this Hungarian-style Czardas (originally scored for either violin or mandolin and piano). It was soon arranged for all kinds of ensembles and solo instruments - the violin, saxophone and piano being the latest! Few people remember Monti today, but everyone will be familiar with his music here - making him a true immortal. Czardas (Hungarian Csarda - 'tavern') is a dance from the 19th century in duple time. He started playing at 4 years old and comes from the most well known accordion family in England. He was the first ever accordionist to be accepted into the Purcell school of music and continues to amaze with his fine balance of technique, musicality and stage presence.
